TITLE Sponsor of Glo Premier League and the just concluded Glo Super Six pre-season championship, Globacom, has congratulated Flying Eagles striker, Taiwo Awoniyi, for emerging the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the competition held in Abuja.

Awoniyi, a member of World Cup-winning Golden Eaglets, who scored in every match at the Super Six, propelled the Flying Eagles to victory in the nine-day competition that also involved reigning Glo Premier League champions, Pillars FC of Kano, former champions, Enyimba FC of Aba, Dolphins FC of Port Harcourt, Warri Wolves and the national U-23 team.

“We believe Taiwo Awoniyi deserves to be hailed after his stellar performance in the Super 6,” Globacom said in a statement in Lagos.

. “Considering his tenacity and consistency while in the national U-16 team, which he has replicated in the U-20 team, we have no doubt that he will make Nigeria proud in the global football arena. We also believe that he will propel the Flying Eagles to success in the 2015 African Youth Championship holding in Senegal next month,” the statement added.

Globacom also commended organisers of the Super Six, the League Management Company (LMC), for their vision, saying Nigeria needs such competitions to improve on its football quality.

“We are delighted that the Super Six has prepared all the teams for the different continental competitions they are about to participate in and we believe Nigeria will benefit from the tournament ultimately,” the statement said.
