Kano Pillars fans invade the pitch after their NPFL match against 3SC

Irate fans attacked match officials as Nigeria Premier Football League match between Kano Pillars’ Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) ended in chaos at the Sani Abacha Stadium, Kano on Sunday.

Pillars led with Mustapha Jibrin’s ninth-minute goal, but 3SC equalized in added time through Adams Mustapha.

Following the final whistle, some home fans invaded the pitch, releasing missiles and punches at referees.

Videos going viral on social media show the pitch invaders belining for the referees with missiles and punches.

officials and 3SC ‘s Ismail Ayodele and Adams Agba’a, were also injured in the incident.

Security operatives had to use teargas before the invaders were dispersed, and their victims could be led to safety.
