An international wellness and lifestyle company, QNET, in partnership with Manchester City Football Club, have empowered 25 young Ghanaian footballers through an elite football clinic aimed at promoting youth development, mentorship and community impact.
The initiative, held in Accra from May 21 to 24, 2026, brought together talented boys and girls aged between seven and 11 from different communities across Ghana for world-class football coaching and life-skills training.
The clinic, hosted at AIS School Park in East Legon, was facilitated by official Manchester City coaches, who trained the participants in football techniques, tactical awareness, teamwork, discipline and leadership.
According to the organisers, the programme was designed to provide young players with an opportunity to build confidence, develop their talents and gain exposure to professional coaching inspired by one of the world’s leading football clubs.
QNET maintained that the partnership with Manchester City Football Club for more than 10 years as the club’s Official Direct Selling Partner.
The company also partners with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), supporting competitions such as the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
The company said the partnerships reflect its commitment to youth empowerment, sports development and community engagement across Africa.
Speaking on the initiative, Chief of Network Development at QNET, Trevor Kuna, said football remains a powerful tool for inspiring young people and creating opportunities across communities.
“Football does something that few things can, it cuts across language, background and circumstance and gives young people a common language of ambition. When you watch these children on the pitch, you see not just their talent but their hunger to grow, to prove themselves, to be seen.
“At QNET, we believe that hunger deserves to be met with opportunity, and that is exactly what this clinic is about,” he said.
QNET’s Deputy Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Cherif Abdoulaye, noted that the initiative built on the success of a similar programme organised in Nigeria in 2023.
He said the company decided to extend the project to Ghana because of the country’s strong football culture and the passion of its young people for the sport.
“When QNET took this initiative to Nigeria in 2023, we saw first-hand what happens when young people are given access to world-class coaching in their own communities, it shifts something in how they see themselves and what they believe is possible.
“Bringing it to Ghana felt like the natural next step. Ghana has a football culture that runs deep, and a new generation ready to carry it forward. We are proud that QNET and Manchester City can be part of that story,” Abdoulaye said.
Partnerships Marketing Manager for City Football Group’s MENA region, Philipa Harrison, described the participants as passionate and committed, adding that the clinic aimed to help young players enjoy the game while developing their abilities.
“We have witnessed tremendous passion, energy and commitment from these young players. This football clinic is about helping young people develop their abilities, enjoy the game and believe in what they can achieve in the future,” Harrison said.
