THE Super Eagles will play two friendly matches with one African and a South American team during the March FIFA windows, an official of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has disclosed. The official also revealed that the NFF would soon announce a substantive coach, who would lead the team in the March friendlies.

NFF General Secretary, Musa Amadu, who did not disclose the countries involved in the March friendlies against the Eagles, said the federation was determined to reorganize the senior national team in preparation for all the qualifying matches coming up this year.

He said: “We have reported that we are trying as much as possible to see that we play two matches during next month’s FIFA international friendly window. I can confirm to you that preparations and engagement in this regard have gone very far to play a game on March 26 in Uyo and outside the country perhaps because of the general elections some few days later.”

“I want to say that I will not mention names because the arrangements have not been done and dusted. Once everything is tied up, we will be able to make the identity of the countries public.

“I want to reconfirm to you that we are making arrangements to ensure that the Super Eagles prosecute two international friendlies next month. I also believe that we would have finalized the issue of chief coach for the team. We are engaging the countries we will play the friendlies with and all I can tell you is that while one of them will be an Africa team the second one will be a South America team. I want to assure Nigerians that both are footballing countries.”
