ONE of Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup, Warri Wolves, has assured its fans of victory in Burkina Faso. The team will hit Lagos Wednesday and depart for Burkina Faso tomorrow to begin their campaign in the competition.

Coach Paul Aigbogun said Tuesday that he was confident that his team would overpower their host, Racing Club de Bobo-Dioulasso (RCB) this weekend, just as he boasted that he had enough materials to prosecute the match. He called on Nigerians to pray for Warri Wolves.

Wolves Media Officer, Etu Moses, said Tuesday that the team, made up of 18 players and nine officials, will leave Lagos by 15.00 hours for Burkina Faso on Thursday.

According to Etu, the team has been in close camping in Otu- Jeremi in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State after the Super Six pre-tournament in Abuja.

Some of the players listed for the trip to Burkina Faso include goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi and Okiemute Odah, Goodluck Onamado, Eyimofe Joseph, Semiu Liadi, who joined from Enyimba, Monday Osagie, Oke Ogagotewho and Ibenegbu Ikechukwu.

Others are Michael Egbeta, Michael Okoyoh, Joseph Osadiaye, Stanley Dimgba, Abu Azeez and Bright Akpojuvwewo.

Etu said yesterday that some of their players in the National U-23 camp like Ichull Lordson, Austin Amutu, Omoforman Freedom and Achibi Ewenike have been released and may make the team depending on the coach’s plan.

He however disclosed that Oghenekaro Etebo was not released because the National team coaches sent a word to Warri Wolves that he is nursing injury.
