DIGITAL Pay-TV service provider, StarTimes, has been commended for its various sport initiatives, contents and engagements, particularly the just concluded StarTimes NBA-TV All Access Tour program, which produced two winners for the one-week trip to Los Angeles, California, USA to watch NBA games and experience American basketball superstars live in action.

One of the winners, Boluwaji Bamidele who is a sports journalist, expressed his joy at having the opportunity to go to watch NBA matches live in America.

“In 2006 when I went to cover the FIBA World Championships in Japan and saw all NBA superstars in action for their respective countries, it became my ambition to go to America to experience live the NBA action. I am happy that the opportunity has come today courtesy StarTimes. I really feel happy.”

The second winner, Chinedu Iroche, an advertising practitioner, admitted he bought his StarTimes decoder because of the NBA basketball broadcast it was offering to Nigerians.

“I want to say that it was the NBA basketball that attracted me to the StarTimes network. Since I got married last November, my wife and I have always stay glued to NBA action because we are basketball freaks. This opportunity of watching NBA live is going to be a life time experience for me.”

Speaking at the unveiling of the two winners of the StarTimes promo in Lagos on Thursday, Public Relations Manager, StarTimes, Israel Bolaji, said the project is another great initiative from StarTimes to reward subscribers and encourage youth sports development and also to give StarTimes subscribers and basketball loving Nigerians the opportunity to watch and experience live NBA matches in the US.”

An Official of Consumer Protection Council, Susie Onwuka, who witnessed the presentation of prizes to the winners, commended StarTimes for fulfilling its promise to those who participated in the promo.
