Gumel ‘heartbroken’ over Okugbe’s death
Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) President, Habu Gumel, has said he is ‘’heartbroken’’ after learning the news of the death of President of Archery Federation, Felix Okugbe.
Okugbe died last week at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital complications of a spine infection surgery.
‘’Okugbe devoted his life to sports and to making people happy and making Team Nigeria work better,’’ he said.
Gumel described Okugbe as ‘’a brilliant mind, a big heart, and an insatiable appetite to give back. I am indeed saddened by the loss of such hardworking man.’’
The news of the death of the Archery Federation President has left the NOC Secretariat at the National Stadium like a graveyard.
Meanwhile, the Okugbe family has announced October 22 to October 23 for the burial of the broadcast journalist in his compound in Lagos.
