Ibeju Lekki, United Cricket Club win 2022/23 CCC League

Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club celebrating their CCC League victory at the TBS Oval, Lagos…at the weekend.
Ibeju Lekki Cricket Club, at the weekend, emerged champions of the 2022/2023 Club Cricket Committee (CCC) League Division One, while United Cricket Club clinched the Division Two trophy.
 
United Cricket Club were also promoted to Division One along with Mondal Boys Cricket Club.
 
Ibeju Lekki also dominated the individual awards with Taiwo Mohammed winning the player for the month of January and Chima Akachukwu won the month of March gong.
 
Other individual awards were Naresh Pandey of Rising Stars for October, David Ankrah and Isaac Danladi of FCC for months of December and February respectively, Ademola Onikoyi of GCI for November and Selim Salau of FGC Warri for month of April.
   
In the Division One league, Mohammed Bolaji Moshood of Ibeju Lekki won the best wicket keeper, Naresh Pandey of Rising Stars Cricket Club won best bowler, Selim Salau of CCC won best batter, Sesan Adedeji of Island Titans won best fielder, while Danladi Isaac of Foundation CC won the season’s MVP.
   
In Division Two individual awards, Pradeep Chaudhary of Unite won player of the month for November, February and April, while Arun won month of December, Saheed Adegboyega of Rocks won for month of October, Amar Arya of MRI Warriors won month of January, while Vikas Choubey of Mondal Boys won month of March gong.
   
Pradeep Chaudhary of United Cricket Club won the season’s MVP and best batter, Fawaz Fatai of Ibeju Lekki won best bowler, Eriola Alabi of Ibeju Lekki won best wicket keeper, while Peter Areghan of Pioneers Cricket Club won best fielder.

CCC League sponsor, member-elect, Lagos State House of Assembly, Eti-Osa Constituency, Gbolahan Olusegun Yishawu, expressed joy at the outcome of the season, while also congratulating the teams.
 
“The event from the beginning of the season gives me great joy. It is a way of keeping people off the streets and supporting sports. We need to engage our youths and develop them. It is a privilege for me to participate in this sport by serving the country. I am always exited to support the league and identify with the sport. Congratulations to the teams that played and the winner,” he said.
 
Speaking on the league, CCC Chairman, Akin Denton, commended the teams for their performances, while promising that more sponsors will join the competition next season.
