Idumobu Quarters lifts Idumuje-Unor inter-village football trophy
Idumobu United of Idumuobu Quarters defeated Atuma Lions of Atuma Quarters 1-0 to win the 2016 Idumuje Unor inter-village football competition, which was one of the activities to mark the end of the year by the community.
The winners triumphed through a well-executed free kick taken by Chiedu Peter Okeleke, one of the revelations of the tournament, which held from December 22 to 31, 2016.
With the official opening ceremony fully observed, the Obi of the Idumuje Unor, Obi Charles Anyasi III, took the opening kick to declare the tournament open.
In the highly pulsating opening encounter, Idumobu beat Imeogbe United 2-0, while Atuma Lions beat Ogbeakwu Stars also by 2-0 in the second game.
The stars of the evening were Chidube Ogwa and Tonna Moemeke, both of Atuma Lions.
In the third match of the tournament, Okwunye Royal Tigers lost by 2-0 to Idumobu Stars, while Atuma Lions beat Imeogbe United in the next match to qualify for the semifinals.
