THE 2016 edition of the Nigeria Police Games is fast approaching and all zones are carrying out screening to select athletes to fly their flags in the Games.

One of the zone is the Force Headquarters, which concluded its screening last Friday at the Police College Sports ground in Ikeja, Lagos.

The headquarters led by its Sports Chairman, Moses Jitoboh, a Commissioner of Police, has declared its readiness to carry the day at the March 14 through 26 Games slated for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

According to CP Jitoboh, who once played for the Nigeria Police basketball team (Police Bombers basketball team) in the 1990s, says the Headquarters had selected over 200 athletes from the initial 400 called up in various sports.

“I am very optimistic that the Force Headquarters will beat other Police formations to the top price at the coming Games,” he said.

Jitoboh also praised the welfare package put in place by IGP Solomon Arase, which he described as morale booster to Nigeria Police sportsmen and women.

The former basketball player says the Inspector General of Police is a man who wants the best for his men and officers.
