Ike Uche debuts in Malaga against old club Villarreal, Simon injured
Nigeria striker Ikechukwu Uche debuted for his new La Liga side Malaga at the weekend against his former team Villarreal.
Uche, who joined Malaga from Mexican side Tigres, was an 84th-minute substitute for Juan Pablo Anor from Venezuela.
Malaga lost 1-0 at Villarreal.
They are 10th on the table with 30 points from 24 matches, while Villarreal are fourth on 48 points.
Meanwhile, Nigeria international Moses Simon was forced out of a Belgian Jupiler League match for champions Genk due to injury.
However, the severity of the injury has yet to be ascertained as Nigeria prepare to face Egypt in all-important AFCON 2017 qualifiers next month.
