Poland striker Robert Lewandowski has extended his Bayern Munich contract until 2021, according to a report in German magazine Sport Bild.

The 27-year-old is having a stellar season for the reigning German champions having netted 25 Bundesliga goals and scored 36 times in all competitions.

He has been linked to the likes of Real Madrid and a host of English clubs, including Manchester City, who current Bayern boss Pep Guardiola will coach next season.

According to Sport Bild, Bayern have improved Lewandowski’s contract meaning he is the fifth Munich player, along with Thomas Mueller, Jerome Boateng, Javi Martinez and David Alaba, tied to the Bavarian giants until 2021.

Lewandowski trained with the Bayern squad on Tuesday having come off the bench in Poland’s 5-0 drubbing of Finland on Saturday in Wroclaw after the Poles beat Serbia 1-0 last Wednesday in a friendly.

Having signed for Borussia Dortmund in 2010, Lewandowski matured into one of the world’s top strikers before joining Bayern Munich on a free transfer in 2014.
