More teams make Zenith/Delta Principals Cup zonal qualifiers

More teams have qualified for the zonal stage of the Zenith/Delta Principals Cup football competition organized for all secondary schools in the state.

The Principal, Vice Principals, some teachers and students celebrating with the GCU Football team, which beat Afiesere Secondary School, Ughelli 4-3 to qualify for the Ughelli North final of the on-going Zenith/Delta Principal’s Cup.

More teams have qualified for the zonal stage of the Zenith/Delta Principals Cup football competition organized for all secondary schools in the state.

Oshimili Council produced the first zonal qualifier when Osa Dennis Secondary School won the competition in the area.

Four more schools have confirmed their places in the zonal event billed for next year January.

From Ughelli South, Ovwian Secondary School has emerged champions, while Okpe Local Council has forwarded Oyenke Secondary School as its representative.

The organisers also confirmed that Essi College would represent Warri South as Uvwie LGA also has Ogbomro as its winner.

Head of the organising team, Tony Pemu said many of the schools in various councils were still engaged in keen contest to produce a winner.

“Sapele has over 30 schools participating while in Ndokwa, 42 teams are competing. We expect winners to emerge in the first week of next month and the zonal event will take place in January,” Pemu said.
