Rallies Support For Pillars In Kano

In a demonstration of the keen desire of Nigeria Football Federation to see the country’s flagbearers in continental club competitions continue to make progress in this year’s competitions, NFF General Secretary, Dr. Mohammed Sanusi, arrived Kano yesterday to support Kano Pillars in their CAF Champions League today. He will also be in Cairo, Egypt, to support Enyimba FC in their campaign tomorrow.

Kano is venue of today’s first round, second leg battle between Kano Pillars and Moghreb Athletic Tetouan of Morocco. The match kicks off at 2pm at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

During the week, the NFF dispatched Dr. Robinson Okosun of the Technical Department, who has at various times worked as Super Eagles’ psychologist, to Kano to provide necessary psychological service to Pillars, who have a mountain to surmount after losing the first leg 4-0 in Morocco and with some of their best legs still injured from a daylight robbery attack before that first leg match.

Dr. Sanusi will leave the city of Kano immediately after the match to travel to Egypt, and give moral support to Enyimba FC of Aba who confront Smouha FC in a first round, second leg match in Alexandria tomorrow.

Enyimba take a slim 1-0 lead to that clash at the Alexandria Stadium, which begins at 5pm Egypt time.

The experienced administrator will then move to Cairo, venue of the 37th CAF Ordinary General Congress taking place at the CAF headquarters on Tuesday.

The NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, is also expected to be in Cairo for the CAF General Congress on
