Nigeria battles Cote d’Ivoire in final preparatory game

Super-EaglesAs part of their preparation for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) slated for Rwanda, the home-based Super Eagles will meet Cote d’Ivoire in an international friendly at their training base in Pretoria, South Africa, today.

Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire are preparing for the competition meant for players plying their trade in their domestic leagues, which kicks off in Kigali, Rwanda, on Saturday.

The Ivoirians, whose main team are the defending champions of the African Nations Cup, played a 1-1 draw with Guinea on Friday, the same result Nigeria recorded with another CHAN-bound team, Angola, also last week.

The match against Cote d’Ivoire will hold at the Tuks University Stadium in Pretoria by 4.00 p.m.

The team had a rest day yesterday to get ready for today’s friendly.

Sources in the team’s camp indicate that the injured Tunde Adeniji, Chisom Chikatara and Skipper Chima Akas have returned to full training and could all play in today’s game.

Meanwhile, it is now official that Lobi Stars’ defender, Samson Gbadebo, will now join his colleagues in Rwanda.
