No friendship in Port Harcourt, says Dolphins’ Olawale

Dolphins’ midfielder, Isiaka Olawale, has told supersport.com that there will not be any form of camaraderie in the derby clash at Sharks.

Dolphins will be the guests of the Blue Angels in the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) match day 31 clash tomorrow at the Sharks Stadium in Port Harcourt.

The first fixture clash between the Port Harcourt sides ended one goal apiece at the Liberation Stadium.

Olawale said the uncomfortable position of both sides on the log means that none will leave any stone unturned to secure all the points at stake.

“Of course, the clash is a local derby involving two clubs that share a lot of things in common but Saturday’s tie will be devoid of any known friendship as each will be going for the other jugular aimed at amassing the whole three points at stake.

“Both sides are not comfortable on the log, so it’s going to be a fight to finish as anything short of outright victory may not speak well for the prospect of the vanquished staying in the elite league.

“It will be a perfect cracker but our attitude towards the match is ‘let the best side win’ and we strongly believe we will turn out to be the better side at the end of the day.

“Already, we are not leaving anything to chance, rather working extremely hard to ensure we claim the three points or worst case scenario come back with a point.

“At least, three points or a point will go a long way to help our fortune on the league log.

“We are still aggrieved over the point Sharks took off us in the first fixture clash on our home ground so the reverse fixture is payback of a sort,” said the former Kwara United star.

Dolphins are 15th in the 20-team Nigerian top flight on 34 points from a possible 90 in the 30-week old league.
