Nottingham Forest are still working on a deal to sign Nigerian midfielder Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester City even as the summer transfer window closes for business today.

Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano on X (formerly Twitter) late Thursday night said that Forest are still working on the deal.

“Nottingham Forest keep working also on top target Wilfred Ndidi from Leicester, as reported days ago. Final decision soon, Ndidi option still on and concrete,” he said.

Romano on Wednesday disclosed that Forest was set to begin negotiations with Leicester City for the Nigerian after the Reds had made an official offer to the Foxes.

Ndidi has been strongly linked with a summer transfer with multiple reports saying that Forest has agreed to personal terms with the Nigerian midfielder.

If the transfer eventually goes through, Ndidi will be joining his fellow Nigerian compatriots, Taiwo Awoniyi, Ola Aina and Emmanuel Dennis at Forest.
