NPFL Match Day 34 fixtures shifted for Super Eagles’ 2016 CHAN qualifier

The League Management Company (LMC) on Wednesday said it has moved to Oct. 21 the Match Day 34 fixtures of the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League, earlier scheduled for Sunday.

The League Management Company (LMC) on Wednesday said it has moved to Oct. 21 the Match Day 34 fixtures of the 2014/2015 Glo Premier League, earlier scheduled for Sunday.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the 10 matches were earlier slated for Oct. 18.

In a statement issued by LMC’s Special Duties Manager, Harry Iwuala, the matches have now been rescheduled to Wednesday in deference to a match involving the Super Eagles.

NAN reports that the senior male national football team’s home-based side is scheduled to host Burkina Faso in a 2016 CAF Championship for African Nations (CHAN) qualifying tie

The match is billed for the Adokie Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt on Saturday, and the competition features only players of domestic African Leagues.

In a notice sent to all the league’s 20 Clubs, LMC’s Chief Operating Officer, Salihu Abubakar, said the decision was taken to help out the clubs.

“It is to allow clubs with players in the CHAN team have full complement of their services for the matches of the Glo Premier League,” he was quoted as saying.

NAN reports that all 10 fixtures of week 34 are billed to kick off at 4 p.m. at the designated centres.
