The Technical Committee of the Ondo State Football Agency has recommended to the management of Sunshine Stars of Akure that the N2.5 million sanction placed on Super Eagles’ defender, Kunle Odunlami, for recently absconding from the team be reduced. The committee, however, advised the club to monitor the player.

A release by Sunshine Stars’ Media Officer, Wahab Bankole, revealed that the technical Committee made the recommendations after “series of meetings held to look into the letters of apology written by Mr. Odunlami to the management of Sunshine Stars, his teammates, as well as the technical crew for the embarrassment, pain and loss caused the team when he abandoned and absconded from the team to undergo pre-contract medical test in Morocco ahead of potential move to Raja Casablanca.”

Sunshine Stars had earlier lifted the indefinite suspension placed on Odunlami and asked him to pay a fine of N2.5 million in addition to apology letters to the management and his colleagues for his unruly behaviour.
