Former Super Eagles captain and chairman of Delta Football Association, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha, will today lead other officials of the state’s Football Association (FA) on a roadshow round major streets in Warri to sensitise the fans ahead of the Federations Cup final billed for tomorrow at the Warri City Stadium.

In neighbouring Benin City, Edo State capital, over 20 lorries are expected to convey fans of Kukuruku Dragons from Auchi to Benin City today for the Edo FA Cup final against BJ Foundation at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium. Edo FA boss, Frank Illaboya said that over 20 individual awards would be given out. The Special Adviser to Governor Adams Oshiomhole on Media, Kassim Afegbua, sponsors the award for both the print and electronic media.

In Delta, the 16th edition of the Federations Cup will be between God’s Time FC and J. Atete FC, while the third place match will be between Warri Wolves and Bobbies United.

Secretary of Delta FA, Friday Onothoja, said yesterday that Okocha, who is passionate about the Federations Cup final, his first major assignment in office, would embark on the road show to give the sponsor, Ecobank, the goodwill it deserves. Ecobank has been consistent in sponsoring the competition for the past 15 years.

In preparation for tomorrow’s final, Okocha presented Ecobank branded jerseys to the four teams yesterday at the boardroom of Warri City Stadium.

Onothoja said yesterday that tomorrow’s final would be highly entertaining, as the two finalists, God’s Time FC and J. Atete FC have large supporters based in Warri.

Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, will be the special guest of honour in the grand finale, and is expected to lead other top government officials as well as management and staff of the sponsor, Ecobank.
