‘Oliseh has opened sponsorship doors for Nigerian football’
Yesterday, the NFF revealed that Oliseh, a former Super Eagles captain, has opened the door of sponsorship for the federation, saying that it has been inundated by many corporate organisations, which want to identify with the Nigerian game.
A member of the NFF executive committee told The Guardian yesterday in Abuja the federation is still getting commendation for appointing Oliseh as the Eagles’ coach, adding that a fall out of the move is the deluge of new partners, which it had gotten due to coach’s goodwill.
The member, who pleaded anonymity, also disclosed that the Eagles coach, who is being expected in the country next week, recently rejected two endorsement offers from corporate firms that wanted to have him as the face of their organisations.
“I can tell you that the face of Nigerian football will change for good with the appointment of Sunday Oliseh as Super Eagles coach. Could you believe that since his unveiling, we have continued to receive offers for discussions on possible partnership or sponsorship deals for the national teams? These are things we are witnessing right now, which never happened in the past.
