NPLTitle sponsor of the Glo Premier League, Globacom, has commended clubs for their high competitive spirit and excellence in the just concluded first half of the season.

The 2015 season is currently on a two-week recess after the Week 19 games on Sunday, with Sunshine Stars of Akure leading the league table.

The team is tied on 36 points with former champion, Enyimba FC of Aba, while Wikki Tourists of Bauchi and Heartland FC of Owerri follow with 33 and 32 points respectively.

Reigning champion, Pillars of Kano, occupies the ninth position with 27 points.

“The teams have so far lived up to expectation in terms of the competitiveness of the league matches and we are happy that it has also rubbed off positively on the league’s standard,” Globacom said in a statement in Lagos yesterday.

“Teams like Kwara United, 3SC and Rangers, who had a rough patch in the early weeks, have also bounced back to reckoning, while Pillars is also gradually bouncing back to reckoning,” the statement said.

It added, “All these indicate that more intense competition should be expected when the league resumes.”

The total ICT solutions provider also commended managements of the clubs for motivating the players and technical crews towards achieving greater results.
