Rohr is an experienced coach, says Adepoju

Former Super Eagles player, Mutiu Adepoju, has called on the football loving Nigerians to support the appointment of Gernot Rohr, as the new Eagles helmsman. He said the German-born tactician has the pedigree to qualify Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup slated to hold in Russia.

Former Super Eagles player, Mutiu Adepoju, has called on the football loving Nigerians to support the appointment of Gernot Rohr, gambling as the new Eagles helmsman. He said the German-born tactician has the pedigree to qualify Nigeria for the 2018 World Cup slated to hold in Russia.

Adepoju, who is a member of the NFF Technical Committee, explained that the body strictly assessed the coaching credentials of Rohr before handing him the job. The former Racing Satander of Spain player wondered why some people are writing off Rohr, bet shop who he explained has the experience, as a manager having worked with several clubs in Africa and Europe and knowledgeable enough to help restructure the Nigeria side.

Adepoju posited that the country needs a credible coach ready to work and stay in the country without nursing any sentiments, bet stressing that Rohr has a responsible work ethics that can reform the Super Eagles.

The former Shooting Star manager, however, extolled the duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi for their heroic performance in the English Premiership friendly between Arsenal and Manchester City at the weekend, shop bet adding that their feats have shown that Nigeria has talented young stars that can qualify the country for the 2018 World Cup.

“Appointing Gernot Rohr as the Eagles coach is a good development for the national team at this moment. The Technical Committee assessed the credentials of the manager and discovered that he was experienced in handling Africa teams. This we believe will assist the Eagles qualify for the World Cup. He is a coach that is versatile and have a good working ethics that can transform the Eagles.

“All the coach needs is total support from Nigerians. I would also like to congratulate Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi for their fine display in the EPL friendly between Arsenal and Manchester City. They should keep maintaining their forms, bet predictions today as this would send a good signal to our World Cup opponents that Nigeria players are ready for any challenge,” he said.

Rohr, who has been working on development programmes for the German Football Association (DFB) since December, played at Bayern Munich and Girondins Bordeaux.He coached Bordeaux when they lost to Bayern in the 1996 UEFA Cup final and last worked in Africa as Burkina Faso coach before joining the DFB.

His other past managerial jobs include French club Nantes and Nice, Young Boys Berne in Switzerland, the Tunisian club Etoile Sahel and the national teams of Gabon and Niger.He steered Tunisians Etoile du Sahel to third place in the league in 2009.

Rohr took Gabon to the quarter-finals of the 2012 Nations Cup on home soil and also managed Niger at the 2013 edition but failed to get them out of the group stage.
Before leaving Burkina Faso, he led the Stallions into the final round of the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
