After periods of struggling within the drop zone, Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) may finally have berthed in the safe zone. They have been on the 14th position for two consecutive match days despite a defeat in Jos to Plateau United.

With 41 points from 32 matches, the club’s lead scorer, Adetunji, whose 10 goals accounts for the club’s 37 goals all season, insists relegation is not an option on the cards for the traditional Ibadan club.

Adetunji played all 90 minutes in Jos against Plateau United and admitted in a chat with that it was very painful to lose after playing so well, especially in the first half when he thought his side created some goal scoring opportunities.

Perhaps, he was guilty of those missed chances with several opportunities to get the ball behind Danladi Issah, a former 3SC goalkeeper, who kept for Plateau United on the day.

“We did not expect to lose this game. We played well and created chances to score but could not find the back of the net. We will continue to have the belief that relegation is not the portion of the club. It is sad to lose, but that is football.” Adetunji said.

Switching from the completed fixture to their next at home to table topping Rangers International, said winning the match is very vital for Shooting Stars to stay comfortable and assured fans that they would get the desired result.
