The 2015/2016 season of the Lagos Metro Pro League Lagos will kick off on Thursday with Nath Boys Football Club battling debutant Pepsi Football Academy at the Agege Stadium. The tie is slated for 4pm.

According to Metro Pro League CEO, Victor Akinyooye, six clubs have been registered to participate this season and they would play 15 rounds, with each team playing every other team three times.

“We adopted this format due to the reduced number of teams for the upcoming season and to finish in time to commence preparations for the 2016/2017 league season later this year.

“This format is also being used in the Australian Professional League (A-League),” he stated.

The registered clubs, according to him, are 36 Lions Football Club, Bridge Football Club, Nath Boys Football Club, Remo Stars Football Club, Pepsi Football Academy and the Saints Football Club.

Akinyooye added that the famous Agege Stadium and Children International School, Lekki, will host the league matches.

Meanwhile, Metro League management has taken delivery of branded balls for matches this season.
