Sterling convinces Nigerian youngster to join Chelsea
Chelsea star Raheem Sterling has convinced Nigerian exciting youngster Hafiz Ibrahim to accept a two-week trial at the Blues.
Ibrahim will be hoping to impress the Premier League giants over the next two weeks in order to land a contract and at the London club.
The Ojodu City player recently scored 10 goals in six games at the Viareggio Cup in Italy to finish as the tournament’s highest goal scorer.
Ibrahim’s goalscoring streak got the attention of top clubs in Europe including Chelsea who hope to sign the Nigerian youngster.
According to The Express UK, Sterling was involved in convincing Ibrahim to accept the trial, as he spoke directly to him via a video call.
Ibrahim was recently linked with Bodo/Glimt of Norway but the club reportedly failed to agree terms despite entering talks in February.
It is believed that Ibrahim will go on loan to French club Strasbourg if he eventually sign a professional contract at Chelsea.
Strasbourg were acquired by Chelsea owner Todd Boehly in June, 2023.
