PLAYERS and officials of Sunshine Stars of Akure were all smiles on Monday following cash gifts and other incentives they received from the management of the team as reward for their victory over Wikki Tourists.

The team’s management, led by Akin Akinbobola, who is also the Chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency, donated some cash gifts and other items to the team for their Week Six victory over Wikki Tourists in Akure.

Akinbobola told the team that “this gift is to show appreciation and say thank you for your effort and commitment which resulted in the maximum victory. It s my belief that you will sustain the trend and even do more in our subsequent matches.”

The ODSFA boss while urging the players to always show enough composure in front of goal, stressed the need for them to utilise the scoring chances created, adding, “it is very important for everyone on the pitch to always compliment the efforts of one another, as this will bring the desired results. If the defenders are working hard, the midfielders should be helping out by creating chances while the attackers are also expected to put the ball into the net.”

He promised to reward the team handsomely if they can get maximum victories in their next three matches.

“We must target maximum wins in our next set of three matches and hope to extend it beyond such, on our part as management, we shall do everything within our reach to make you happy and realize the set objectives.”

Sunshine Stars, who are fifth on the league table with 10 points from six matches, will meet Heartland of Owerri in a Week Seven tie billed for the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri, this weekend.
