Official sponsor of the Nigerian national teams, Globacom, is excited by the country’s qualification for the women football event of the 2015 All Africa Games following Super Falcons’ 9-1 aggregate defeat of Mali in the last round of the qualifiers.

The Falcons on Friday in Abuja defeated Mali 8-0 to pick the ticket on a 9-1 aggregate having drawn the first leg 1-1 in Bamako.

In a press statement in Lagos yesterday, Globacom commended the Super Falcons for beating the Malians and ensuring that Nigeria will be represented in Women Football at the AAG holding in Congo Brazzaville.

The trio of Desire Oparanozie, Asisat Oshoala and Francisca Ordega scored a brace each, while Skipper Evelyn Nwabuoku and Esther Sunday added one goal each to complete the demolition of the Malians.

“The Super Falcons should leave no stone unturned as they work toward a good outing in the All African Games and ensure that they emerge victorious, thus consolidating their position as the number one women team in Africa.

“We noted with great interest the fighting spirit and determination the team demonstrated in the match against Mali and we believe this will help them to make Nigeria stand out at the AAG. We believe the team has the character and pedigree to achieve the ultimate goal of picking the gold medal,” the statement said.

The Super Falcons will represent Nigeria at the women Football event of the All African Games scheduled for Congo Brazzaville between September 3 and 18, 2015.
