Taifa Stars, S’Eagles game gets early kick off time


Super EaglesNigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania will be an early kick off on September 5, reports.

The game will commence at 2:30pm (West African Time/local time in Nigeria), the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has said.

The Super Eagles will visit the Taifa Stars for the group’s second game at the National Stadium, Dar es Salaam in an encounter to be played on natural turf at 4:30pm local time in the East African country.

The NFF said it received notice about the schedule from the Tanzanian Football Federation’s president, Jamal Malinzi.

The Super Eagles will fly out from Abuja on a chartered aircraft to Tanzania next week.

According to, all the 23 players invited for the match from the domestic league were at yesterday’s training session at the Abuja National Stadium with coach Sunday Oliseh dishing out instructions.

However, FC IfeanyiUbah star, Bright Onyedikachi, watched the training from the sidelines as he is nursing what an official simply described as a “minor knock”.

Fresh call-up Yaro Bature (Nasarawa United) enjoyed extra support as his club boss Danladi Isaac watched the training alongside Lobi vice-chairman, Dominis Iofa.

The Eagles are expected to play a test game tomorrow morning, officials further disclosed.

Meanwhile, the NFF have taken delivery of the official car of coach Oliseh.

The car, an Optima Nissan 2.5, according to, costs N6.5 million.

While receiving the car, NFF General Secretary, Sanusi Mohammed, noted: “We are happy to inform you that the official car of our Super Eagles coach has arrived.

“We want to make sure the coach is comfortable so he can concentrate on the job at hand which is to qualify us for the Nations Cup first.”
