Teams ready to rumble, as Zenith Bank women basketball league dunks off

All is now set for the first phase of the 2016 Zenith Bank Women Basketball League scheduled to dunk off in Abuja today.
According to the Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF), the opening ceremony of the championship will begin by 4.30 p.m., but two matches are scheduled to be played before then.

NBBF in a statement made available to The Guardian stated that 18 teams would be vying for honours in the women fiesta, adding that six teams, including defending champions, Dolphins, First Bank of Lagos and Zamfara have already arrived the FCT for the event.

Dignitaries expected at the opening ceremony include the Minister of Sports, permanent secretaries, directors of the sports ministry, Senate/House Committee Chairmen on Sports and other stakeholders in Nigerian basketball.
