Uganda will be looking to register their first victory in the third round of the 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifying today when they host Congo in a Group E encounter at the Mandela National Stadium in Uganda’s capital city, Kampala.
Kick-off is at 3:00pm.
The Cranes of Uganda managed to hold African giants Ghana to a goalless draw away in the first Group E game which was played early last month.
The draw left the East African side placed third on the group standings with one point – two behind leaders Egypt who beat Congo-Brazzaville.

Uganda captain Geoffrey Massa played an important role during the Cranes’ recent successful 2017 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) qualifying.
The South Africa-based centre forward is expected to lead his nation to victory when they take on a dangerous Congo-Brazzaville side at home.
As preparation for the clash, the Cranes played Zambia in an international friendly match which was played in Kampala on Tuesday and Chipolopolo won 1-0 on day.
Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredejovic explained that they benefited from the defeat as they now know where to improve ahead of Saturday’s clash.
“The final result against Zambia was a disappointment, but I have picked lots of positives from the match in preparation for the next match against Congo Brazzaville,” Sredejovic said.
“We have three more training session where the focus will be put on man-management, partnership forging, department-management and team management.”
Meanwhile, Congo-Brazzaville will be targeting nothing but an away victory when they lock horns with Uganda today.
