West Brom female coach for Greensprings Kanu Football Camp
To ignite the interest of female students in football, a lady coach from English Premier League (EPL) side, West Bromwich Albion, will be part of this year’s Greensprings Kanu Football Camp.
According to David Shepherd of UK-based Euroworld Sports Limited, the EPL side has agreed to send two coaches, including a coach from their Ladies Team Coaches (Female), who is currently taking her UEFA B License.
“I am very pleased to confirm that West Bromwich Albion have agreed to commit two coaches to support the Kanu Soccer Camp 2016.
“This year, they are sending a coach from their Ladies Team (Female), who is currently taking her UEFA B license. She has been a coach at West Bromwich Albion for three years, and is currently coaching their ladies Academy teams,” he said.
He added: “I think the inclusion of a female coach will help promote the interest of women in Nigerian football, and could potentially boost the interest for more girls to take part in the Greensprings Kanu Camp.
“It has been noted that on previous camps, you have encouraged female coaches to be part of the programme, so an additional one attending from the UK will further support this development.”
This year’s Greensprings Kanu Football Camp promises to be exciting as Dutch and British coaches are expected to handle proceedings at the one-week clinic holding in Lagos next month.
