FORMER Super Eagles defender, Taribo West, has said that the continuous failure of Super Eagles players to win the prestigious CAF African footballer of the year award in recent times and other international awards, was because the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has not yet structured the domestic league in a manner that will create an enabling environment for talents discovering.

Speaking in the wake of Super Eagles keeper, Vincent Enyeama and team captain, Ahmed Musa, exclusion from the top 10 list of the CAF awards, Taribo noted that the duo of Enyeama and Musa could not make the final list of the award due to stiffer competition faced by the duo from their counterparts in Africa.

The former Juventus of Italy player stated that if more quality and hungry players who are eager to make name for themselves were discovered in the domestic league, Nigeria will have abundant talents playing for big clubs in Europe.

He added that if Enyeama and Musa who where discovered from the local league can make the CAF award, it lays credence to the fact that much work needs to be done to groom players from the domestic scene.
