For Nigeria Independence Day I wanted to create something that will give people that nostalgic feeling and give them a little taste of our culture. Our culture is so rich, diverse, beautiful and vibrant in color. So I decided to play a little game of “Ludo” that I’m sure a lot of Nigerians have played growing up. I also wanted to dress as a different bride representing different tribes. So I did TIV, Yoruba Brides, and Igbo/Edo Brides. I told the team my vision and they executed it perfectly, including my costume as an Igbo Bride.

The weekend will end perfectly with the stage-play IFE. I’ve been part of the Milolaa Production family for sometime now and I won’t lie this script had me questioning my relationship with Milolaa herself after she told me what role she wanted me to play. I was honored to be a part of it because it pushed me to play a role I probably would have never considered auditioning for. IFE is a traditional twist on the story of Ruth in the Bible. The message of love was well received in a theater that seated well over 800 people and I couldn’t have been more honored, grateful and proud to have been a part of it.
What’s next? I’m not sure we’re just going to have to wait and see. Till then follow me on Instagram @lafftillithurts
