All Nigerian Universities Debating Championship Opens At Imo State University
TO enhancing academic studies and improve interaction among university students across the country and beyond, the Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri, has hosted this years edition of the All Nigerian Universities Debating Championship.
About 25 Nigerian universities and four others from Ghana, Zambia, Mozambique and South Africa are involved.
Declaring open the event on Tuesday, the Acting Vice Chancellor of the Imo State University, Prof. Adaobi Obasi, represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration, Prof. Jerome Okonkwo, urged all the participants to remain law abiding and focused during the period and beyond.
She said: “I believe that any successful man and woman, he or she will have successors. I am also proud to say that here, we have successors.”
The chairman of the event and the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Paschal Nnadi, represented by a judge in the state, Florence Duroha Igwe, noted that the academic exercise was a welcome one, urging for sustenance to entrench peace and unity among nations.
