Embrace salvation of God, preach, teach same to congregation, Abere tells clergy/wives at retreat
The Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Okrika, Rt. Rev. Tubokosemie Robinson Abere, has admonished the clergy and wives of the diocese to embrace the salvation of God, preach and teach same to their congregation through well planned evangelism, saying time is running out.
He disclosed this while speaking at the 2019 five-day Clergy and Wives Retreat of the Diocese of Okrika, which held at the Ibru Ecumenical Retreat Centre, Agbarha-Otor, Delta State from Monday, August 26, 2019 to 30.
Themed: “Behold, I come quickly” taken from Rev. 22.12, the Bishop, who expressed his gratitude to the participants, the management of the Centre as well as the Planning Committee for making the retreat possible, said: “We must occupy till He comes through the proclamation of the Word of God.”
The Retreat, which was organised by a committee made up of Ven. Dr. Bennett Tamunobelema as Chairman; Ven. Collins M. Ekene as Co-chairman; Mrs. Adaobi Gaius-Hart as Secretary; Revd Francis Benson; Mrs. Aikiohigha E. Atuboyedia; Mrs. Sarah T.T. Abereoku and Ven. Godstime T. Orabere as Clergy Association Chairman/Ex-officio), featured daily Holy Communion services, Prayer sessions, Praise and Worship sessions, Bible Study and the Ministry of the Word of God sessions as well as Revival hours with topics such as “Ephraim, A Cake Not Turned”; “Righteousness and the Kingdom of God”; “The Tested Servant”; “Re-examining your Call and Passion” and “Managing Time And Stress”.
There were also seminar discussions, health talks, as well as prayers for those in authority; the needy; the sick; the church universal, Anglican Communion, the Primate, Archbishops, Bishops, the clergy/wives and parishioners and families.
