
A four-year-old girl, Imisi Subomi Oladapo, a pupil of Chrisland School, VGC has emerged the winner of the maiden Cussons Baby Toddler competition tagged: ‘Grow and Shine’. For her efforts, she got N1 million education grant and Cussons products.
Ehiarekhian Peter Hayble, a pianist and Amarachi Akujobi, a dancer came second and third, smiling home with N250, 000 and N150, 000 education grant respectively. Seventeen other kids also went home with products and N20, 000 and N10, 000-shopping voucher each.
Oladapo, a choreographic performer, received standing ovation from judges, parents and other contestants. The judges were Jude Abaga, popularly known as MI, Waje Iruobe and Chidinma Ekile, who are all musicians.
PZ Cussons’ Head, Regional Marketing for Africa, Charles Nnochiri stated that the judges were objective in their assessment and the event turned out as expected.
Also, Cussons Baby Senior Brand Manager, Family Care, Oluwaseun Ayeni said the brand believes that all babies are uniquely gifted, which explains why Cussons Baby Toddler contest was added to the earlier platforms aimed at showcasing talents in babies.
The elated mother of the winner, Mrs. Ireti Oladapo, a writer/publicist, stated that there were so many talented children at the competition and that at a point, her faith began to waver, wondering whether her baby would pick the big prize after all.
She thanked Cussons Baby for believing in the Nigerian child and not only providing them with world class baby lotion, soaps, oil and powder, but also giving them the opportunity to express themselves through dancing, singing, choreographing and other talents.
