God has a plan for all – Part 2

Many people, including Christians, are today living in fears because they believe God’s promises will never come to pass in their lives. They believe somehow that the Devil or human enemies will confiscate such blessings. This was what caused angst in the heart of King Rehoboam, the son of Solomon. What he did not know was that the privilege, provision and treasure that he had was much; he had two of the most important tribes in Israel, namely, Judah and Benjamin, under him.

For one, “The Lord loveth (Judah) more than all the dwellings of Jacob.” Everything that belonged to the other 10 tribes could not be compared to that of Judah. In value, weight, prophecy and profit, Judah was higher and greater because “the Lord hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.” Hence, the Lord instructed Rehoboam and “all Israel in Judah and Benjamin… not (to) go up, nor fight against (their) brethren: (but) return every man to his house.” If we count our blessings which include salvation, answered prayers, miracles, fullness of joy and heaven, we will see that we have much.

As believers, we are admonished to “fear not…be glad and rejoice: for the Lord will do great things…” We have no reason to regret or be sorrowful. Jesus is our Treasure. Therefore, we have all things. Everything we ask in His name — salvation, healing, deliverance, sanctification, Holy Ghost baptism, provision and “all things that pertain unto life and godliness” — He grants us. As “partakers of the divine nature” who would “inherit all things,” we must not fear because our treasure is still much and available. Instead, we should follow God obediently, with the full realisation that triumph belongs to the meek in heart.

The Lord wants believers to be meek in order to benefit from His blessing and provision. Despite the determination of Rehoboam, Judah and Benjamin to fight against their brethren, “they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.” Thus, the kingdom of Judah was strengthened and “Rehoboam the son of Solomon (was made) strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.”

When we are meek in the sight of the Lord, blessings will flow into our lives, family, ministry and endeavour. All the blessings and resources of the earth belong to the meek because “blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” The fruit of the Spirit in our lives manifests through meekness. This virtue also makes us to seek the Lord and obtain promotion. “The Lord lifteth up the meek: he casteth the wicked down to the ground.”

Despite the prevailing situation, “if (you) follow on to know the Lord… he shall come unto (you) as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.” Instead of being agitated, afraid or anxious about anything in life this year, “trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” As you keep on following, striving, praying and being active in what He calls you to do, you will triumph.
