Aboyeji highlights praises, obedience to god as ways out of quagmire
The General Overseer of Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria, Rev. Sam Aboyeji, has called on Nigerians to continue to praise God despite the current challenges, saying amid praises and righteous lifestyle God will send solutions.
He gave the call at the end of the Church’s 69th yearly convention with thetheme: “God Of Wonders,” which took place at the Church’s camp, Km 5, Lagos Ibadan Express Way, Ajebo, Ogun State.
Aboyeji in a message titled: “Manifesting His Glory Through Wonders,” said wonders are meant to show the glory of God, which is solidly dependent on four pillars — an individual inviting of Jesus Christ into his life, implicitly obeying his instructions, identifying the instrument God would use as destiny helper and have inspiration and faith.
Coincidentally, Aboyeji whose second term was unanimously affirmed in a peaceful electoral process by delegates with 1,931 (97.6%) votes cast in his favour out of 1,979 votes cast, 39 in opposition and 9 rendered invalid on Monday, April 8, 2024.
began his second term on November 17, 2024, the last day of the Convention. He was re-installed and prayed for along with his wife, Rev.OlabisiAboyeji.The General Overseer Emeritus, Rev. Gabriel Farombianointed both of them.
The Lagos State Governor, Mr. BabajideSanwo-Olu, who was represented by the Special Assistant to the Governor of Lagos State on Religious Affairs, Rev. BukolaAdeleke gave kudos to the church for her contribution to nation building through outreach programmes such as refuge for the poor, displaced and broken hearted, which exemplified God’s love in action.
He also lauded the church for being pivotal in the promotion of peace, education and empowerment of the next generation of Nigerians. Mrs.Aboyeji said for God of Wonders to work in homes, parents should have time for their children and realise that training of a child starts from the womb and after the delivery, the training continues.
She admonished parents not to leave their wards for teachers only, but should imbibe values and morals through the Word of God to pass on to their children to obliterate lack of respect, moral decadence and lack of values.
