Apapa family donates libraries to 10 schools in Ifako-Ijaiye

In fulfilment of its promise to equip 500 public primary school libraries in Lagos State, the Apapa Family of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, recently, donated mini-libraries to about 10 different schools in the Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Area of Lagos. Making the presentation on behalf of Apapa Family, Pastor Adeniyi Ajibola, who led members of the church to the venue from Province 5, told The Guardian, “We are here to donate libraries to primary schools in accordance with our vision. Last year, during our Excel programme, we started with about 100 projects and this year, we are going to execute about 250 and before the end of the year, we should be done by His Grace. We are spread over Lagos State, and the project is not for a particular school. For instance, what we have here is for 10 schools.

“As a church, we are not only particular about the spiritual aspect, we’re also concerned about the physical aspect of human development. We believe in the education of our children and we have various other areas of interest such as education, sports, information and other areas of human endeavour. So, we do our best to ensure that we improve the facilities, and make life comfortable for people. We, as a family, believe in excellence. We believe that with God all things are possible and we believe that if we all submit to the ways and will of our Lord Jesus Christ, our lives will be better. He said that He has come so that we may have life and have it more abundantly. So, we spread the gospel of the abundant life; we spread of gospel of truth and the gospel of good living. In Act 2, the Bible tells us that at a certain stage, the people that had more than enough, gave to those who didn’t have, that is where all these are coming from,” he said.

Appreciating the good gesture, Mrs. Comfort Bosede Akinloye, who represented the education secretary of Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government, said: “We highly appreciate what the church has done here today and we thank God for the reformation in the education system that has brought about the intervention of NGOs in our educational system. And we pray that God continues to use them more for our children. All these support will give hope to the children and they will have brighter future.”

Mrs. Cole Agnes Olubisi, who represented the Association of Primary School Head Teachers in Ifako/Ijaiye chapter, described the gesture as marvelous.

“We are very grateful to God Almighty and the team that has brought these beautiful and educational gifts to this Ifako/Ijaiye Local Government Education Authority. It’s marvelous because this will help the children to be able to read fluently and understand other subjects as well. We thank God that this innovation is one of its kind, which will definitely help Ifako/Ijaiye at large and our children to be well represented outside the local government. God will continue to replenish your purses and the family that have brought these to our family will be more blessed in Jesus in name. The mini library they brought here will be spread throughout the zones of the LGA. Every child has the right to benefit from it. The books they brought are marvelous in the sense that they are educative. These can lead the children to Junior Secondary School; so more blessing to the Apapa Family.”
