I went to visit a family and within a few minutes, I discovered that the woman of the house was in charge of that marriage. The man was not as strong as he ought to be, and the woman was in charge, issuing orders, which were carried out. Physically, the man was very strong, but his wife was still rattling him right in his own house, telling him whatever she wanted. In the area, where the man was supposed to put his feet down, he would shy away and things kept getting worse. In that area, the man was very weak.

You have committed fornication, and you promised yourself never to do it again, but the next day, you find yourself doing it again. In that area, you are weak. You have gossiped several times and have gotten wounded by it, and yet you have not been able to overcome it. That’s your weak area. There are areas where we are weak in life and there are areas where we are strong.

In 2 Corinthians 12: 8-9, Apostle Paul said three times have I besought the Lord that He might take it away, But God said onto him, “My strength is made perfect in your weakness.”

Here, God was telling him that whatsoever thing you cannot do or whatsoever habit you cannot stop by your strength, that you can do them by His strength. And though your weakness still remains in you, but I will overshadow them by my power and you will begin to do things, as if you are strong, although you are weak.

If you really want to shine as light and also make heaven, it is very important for you to look out for your areas of strength and that of your weakness. If you do not identify your areas of strength and weakness, there is no way you will grow in the school of righteousness. Find out those things that can bring you down as a Christian or as a child of God, if it is anger or those things that make you look lesser than what God says you are, discover them and deal with them, because if you don’t, you will become a prey to them and sooner or later, they will drag you to destruction.

Now the big question is: “what kind of weakness are we talking about?” In Greek, it is called ‘Asthanao.’ We are not talking about physical weakness, rather, we are talking of temperamental weakness, Temperamental flaws, Temperamental defects, which we have received through our parents. They are genetic issue, a genetic struggle. You have discovered that you love women so much, but you are a child of God and you’ve been trying to overcome it for over 30 years, but you still find yourself in the same mess every time. You have prayed about it countless times, yet you still fall for it. The essence of spiritual growth is for us to face our weaknesses and deal with them.
