ESBAASC holds conference, enjoins clergy to reflect on their roles, calling

The Ecumenical Synod of Bishops, Archbishops, Apostles and Senior Clergy (ESBAASC) has called on the clergy and church leaders to reflect on their roles and responsibilities in fulfilling their divine calling.

The body focusing on lives that reflect God’s purpose, made the call at its 2025 National Conference with theme: “Unleashing The Life Worthy Of Your Calling,” held in Ofatedo Oshogbo, Osun State, Nigeria.

The International Prelate of ESBAASC, Archbishop Matthew Olubunmi, emphasised the importance of self-examination, courage and unwavering faith in unleashing a life worthy of one’s calling.

He mentioned Joseph, Esther and Paul, as individuals who unleashed lives worthy of their calling.

He said: “Let us remove whatever holds us back — be it fear, complacency or doubt —and step boldly into the destiny God has prepared for us.”

National Prelate of ESBAASC, Archbishop Gbenga Ayansola, emphasising the significance of the theme, noted that we live in an era that demands courage, resilience, and authenticity from those who are called to shepherd God’s people, adding that the theme, ‘Unleashed To Live A Life Worthy Of Your Calling’ embodies a powerful message for our time.”

The Archbishop encouraged participants to reflect on the integrity of their witness and the depth of their commitment to God’s calling in their lives.

The conference in a statement signed by its National Press Secretary, Most Senior Apostle Olushina Richards, noted that the gathering provided a platform for deep discussions, fervent prayers and inspiring worship, aside exploring innovative ways to address the challenges faced by their congregations and the broader society.

To collaborate with its host community and traditional leaders in the promotion of spiritual growth and community development, ESBAASC delegate paid a courtesy visit to the Ataoja of Oshogbo, Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, who was appointed the National Royal Patron for the association.

The monarch expressed appreciation for the recognition and promised to support the association’s mission and activities.

The Conference also consecrated a new Archbishop, Taiwo Ojomo, who is deputy National Prelate. Osun State Prelate, Bishop Veronica Bolajoko Orisaleye, hosted the conference. Guest Speaker, Bishop Mike Bamidele, was also appointed as Osun State Patron alongside other officers.
