GKS members seek protection as feast of tabernacles ends

Members and friends of God’s Kingdom Society GKS (The Church of the Living God) home and abroad converged at St. Urhobo Square in Salem City, Warri, Delta State, to mark their yearly feast of Tabernacles 2017.

The long-week event, organised by the central planning committee, sub-committee, executive board and Laity, began on December 10, 2017 and ended on December 17.

The carnival-like event was an occasion for members and friends to seek Jehovah’s protection and intervention in their lives, especially as the year comes to an end. They danced and rejoiced, putting tribe, gender and colour aside to celebrate the event.Explaining the importance of the event, GKS President, Brother Godwin Ifeacho, explained that Feast of Tabernacles was initiated by Almighty God through Moses the prophet, and which ancient Israel celebrated.

Ifeacho, who quoted Zachariah 14 verses 16-19 to buttress his point, said Jesus Christ also set the pace for all His followers, when He actively took part in the feast in His days on earth, according to John 7: 1-17,37,38.

The man of God appreciated the support of all stakeholders in the community and contributions from various quarters. While praying for the people, he urged members to be civil and obedient to the laws of the land.

GKS women followership leader, Sister Helen Bazunu, advised women to desist from politics and faithfully build their homes in the fear of God. The highpoint of the event was the display of musical and choir performances, cultural dance and acrobatic display, rendered by different groups in colourful attires.
