God Can Use People Wherever They Are (2)

IT is interesting to note that Daniel was named ruler by the king over the whole province of Babylon and placed in charge of the wise men. A competent leader never does all the work alone; he or she knows how to delegate and supervise responsibilities. Moses, Israel’s greatest leader, shared the burden of administration with dozens of assistants (Exodus 18 v 13-27).

To further buttress the fact that God can use people wherever they are, the Bible records: “At Daniel’s request, the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego to be in charge of all the affairs of the province of Babylon while Daniel remained in the king’s court.”

Some people fail to look for assistants or those who will help drive their vision, as a result of selfishness or lack of courage. They may, though naively, think that if they have assistants, such might outshine them and claim attendant glory. In the political circle, people now talk about ‘godfathers’ and ‘god-sons’. Of course, the attendant weakness of such a move is that mediocrity is introduced into the system. But this ought not to be.

We need men and women who can perform wherever they are, either in the political or religious circle. Yes, those who are so appointed have no reason to fail or disappoint but perform in order to better the lot of human society, to the praise of God who gave them the opportunity. I think, for us in Nigeria, all eyes are now on the new Ministers, to perform and help President Muhammadu Buhari bring about his change agenda. It is hoped that they are round pegs in round holes. Nigerians are watching.

People of God, let us remember, wherever we are, God can use us. He is in charge of the affairs of men. He overrules human sentiments and jealousies. Notice, the devil cannot stop us wherever we are. By God’s grace, we are to perform just like Daniel and his compatriots.
Please, do not compromise!
