God has no pleasure in a sinner’s death

Physical death is a must and a necessary end of all human beings. However, there are two types of death, physical and spiritual.

Physical death is a must and a necessary end of all human beings. However, there are two types of death, physical and spiritual. As soon as an individual suffers physical death he/she ceases to exist on earth. The purpose of our coming to earth is to attain perfection through God’s service. In the course of being obedient to His words and serving Him, we inculcate His divine nature of love. We are to show love to Him and to our fellow human beings. By the time an individual shows true love to his creator and fellow human beings, God will reciprocate by having good thoughts about him/her. A person that has true love will never harbour evil thoughts or plans. He/she will never be an instrument the Devil will use to steal what does not belong to him/her or kill a fellow human being, or show amoral interest in another man’s wife or daughter or husband.

One who has divine or agape love will not do anything bad to another person. He/she will live a holy and righteous life and when physical death comes, he/she will go in peace to God. God is waiting to welcome all human beings back to Himself in heaven for life eternally. This is why the Bible wants everyone to live a spirit-filled life as directed by God. God is not happy when one fails to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, because He is not happy at the death of any sinner. This is the reason He is continuously warning us against sin of any kind.

The Bible emphatically warns man in Ezekiel 18:5-9 saying: “But if a man be just, and do that which is lawful and right. 6: And hath not eaten upon the mountains, neither hath lifted up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, neither hath defiled his neighbour’s wife, neither hath come near to a menstruous woman. 7: And hath not oppressed any, but hath restored to the debtor his pledge, hath spoiled none by violence, hath given his bread to the hungry, and hath covered the naked with a garment. 8: He that hath not given forth upon usury, neither hath taken any increase, that hath withdrawn his hand from iniquity, hath executed true judgment between man and man. 9: Hath walked in my statutes, and hath kept my judgments to deal truly; he is just, he shall surely live, saith the Lord God.”

God is emphatic, when He said in the Scriptures that the soul that commits sin shall die. As stated above, there are physical and spiritual deaths. The reference here is on spiritual death. Everyone on earth must first die physically and the body separated from the spirit before dying spiritually. At physical death, the spirit of evildoers do die again spiritually and then enter hell fire. This is the type of death God does not want anybody to suffer. It is only the people who have hardened their hearts against the word of God that will undergo this spiritual death. People who are obedient to God’s word avoid all sinful activities as stated in this Scriptures and will have everlasting life in heaven.

Although God has earlier warned human beings against sin and in His love, He gave room for repentance and forgiveness in case we fall into any kind of sin. This is why He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for the sins of the world. John 3:16-18 says: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life. 17: For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved. 18: He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only Begotten Son of God.”

It is a demonstration of love and for the fact that He does not want anybody to perish in hell fire. There is room for repentance and forgiveness, so that, as many that want to escape the bitterness and pains of hell can get salvation. God is good in all ramifications, but Satan, the author of sin is evil; He is bad in every way. It is sin that separates man from God. The Almighty God does not behold iniquity. He, therefore, has prepared heaven for the ransomed to spend their eternal life. Isaiah 35:10 says: “And the ransomed of the Lord shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.”

There will be joy in heaven when the redeemed of the Lord will gather there to enjoy eternal life. These are the people our Lord Jesus Christ has purchased with His precious blood. That everlasting joy is what God has planned for all human beings. He does not want any human being to miss this everlasting joy, that is why He does not take pleasure in the death of a sinner. There is merriment in heaven whenever a sinner repents. As many that repent, He calls the chosen ones. This can been seen in 1Peter 2:9: “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 10: Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.”

The repented souls, the people doing the will of God, are special to God. They are members of His royal family and of the priesthood office. The people on acceptance of Christ obtain mercy and become people of God. The explanation of the office of priesthood will be for another day. However, every true Christian is a priest before God.

Since you now know that God does not take delight in the death of a sinner, it will be well for anyone reading this message who still indulges in sinful activities to repent and accept Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Saviour. He/she should be prepared for the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and live eternal life in heaven. This is because no defiled person will enter heaven. Heaven is a place prepared for those who are prepared, so you must be prepared yourself by turning away from all evils — fornication, adultery, smoking, drinking alcoholic, stealing, robbery, kidnapping, ritual killing, hired assassination, polygamous marriages, wearing of attachment/weave-on, lying, homosexual, lesbianism, bestiality, among others. All these and many more are terrible sins and must be done away with. Remember, our topic is “God has no pleasure in the death of a sinner.”

1Tim 2:3-4 says: “For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour, who will have all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of truth.” The desire of God is that all should be saved, including you reading this message; so, make haste and turn to God before it is too late. Note, you are not the owner of your life!
