I will never give up – part 4

“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.

“And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.” (Luke 15:20-21)

THIS is the period to affirm with our words what God has done in our lives. As said in the previous messages, don’t give up. The previous messages were persuasive, while today’s is audacious. God wants you to personally affirm that you will never give up, no matter the situation. The situation around the prodigal son or lost son warranted him to accept his fate and remain in his ugly situation than taking the steps of faith and seeking reconciliation with his father. The young boy lost the first opportunity in his life journey. He missed it by living a reckless life, but grace found him. He was tired of hopelessness, regret, and isolation. He lost the family relation and squandered the family inheritance. “And when he had spent all…” (14) The famine in the land pushed him back to his father for genuine repentance. The famine in Nigeria may be unbearable, but resolve not to give up because your heavenly Father is able to bless you. “I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging bread” (Ps. 37:25)

The first step taken by the young man was that he arose. If you want to fulfil your dream in life, you must be resilient. Sitting on the same spot won’t bring progress to your life. The economy is not favourable, yet some are making it. Determine not to engage in dubious and questionable business that will stain your garment. Despite the challenges faced by Joseph, he never stopped dreaming, and he kept moving on. Though, discouragement, failure and depression are agents of retrogression, but you must arise above them.

Again, he went to his father. God through our Lord Jesus Christ is our Father. He said, “Come unto me, all you who are weary and burden, and I will give you rest” (Mat. 11:28) Are you restless and about to give up? Arise to meet with Jesus, for He has promised you rest in all ramifications. A young man sent me a message last week that he would soon commit suicide, but I told him never to give up.

Finally, positive confession is a tool to arise in life. I will arise, I have sinned… your present state of life may pose a threat to your progress. But your personal confession of sins and your confession of successes is enough to bring you up. Are you tired of your present state and predicament? Go back to your Father. He is merciful and will give you a new beginning. Say to yourself that, “Ï will never give up.” Put the past behind and wait for the appointed time of God.
