Man is the most privileged creature God brought into this earth, having been made in His Own image and likeness. God breathed life into his nostrils, and he became a living being. In all these, man was made to function like God, the creator of heaven and earth and everything therein. It was not by accident, but through special design and plan. Man is made as the representative of God on earth and to give his Maker pleasure in the course of doing His will. Man was created to render unpolluted service to his creator at all times in his life, even when the first Adam deviated, disobeyed and committed sin, God still sent a deliverer, His only begotten son, Jesus Christ, to come and do His will and to fully demonstrate to man the way to serve God, the creator.
Doing God’s will must be the first priority, even above eating.
Our Lord Jesus Christ, in the course of His earthly ministry, demonstrated to the disciples that the first duty of man is to do the bidding of his creator by emphatically making it known in John 4:30-34 declaring thus: “Then they went out of the city, and came unto him. 31: In the mean while his disciples prayed him, saying, Master, eat. 32: But he said unto them, I have meat to eat that ye know not of. 33: Therefore said the disciples one to another, hath any man brought him ought to eat? 34: Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work.” Our Lord Jesus Christ came purposely to do God’s will on earth. No wonder when His disciples requested him to teach them how to pray, He directed them to petition God in this manner: “When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.”
The will of God is already being done in heaven, hence, our Lord Jesus Christ has come to lead men into doing God’s will. This will please God to bless the residents of the earth the more. It is the whole duty of man to be obedient to God’s word and to do His will. Hence in Hebrews 10:7-10, it is written: “Then said I, lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God. 8: Above when he said, sacrifice and offering and burnt offerings and offering for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein; which are offered by the law. 9: Then said he, lo, I come to do thy will, O God. He taketh away the first, that he may establish the second. 10: By the which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.” Prior to the coming of the Lord, Jesus Christ, prophecies were made advertising His coming and all clearly stating the purpose of His coming, which is to do God’s will. He had to pay the supreme sacrifice of laying down His life to deliver man from the bondage of sin. He came to show the way to serve God and to do His will. It is now left to man to follow suit to do the will of God.
As earlier stated in this write-up, God created man in His own image and His likeness and gave man authority and power to multiply and replenish the earth and subdue it. It is clear as the Bible has it in Genesis 1:26-28 thus: “And God said, let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28: And God blessed them, and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” In recreating, he is meant to direct the products of his multiplication to obey the Lord by doing His will. Man is meant to preach the gospel to all the creatures of the world to enable them understand God’s plan and purpose for them.
The will of God is to be practiced wholeheartedly on earth, but otherwise is the case. Man is engrossed in the sin of fornication and adultery, killing of fellow human being, seeking power outside God and giving glory meant for the creator to man made instruments. Man has totally deviated from doing the will of his Maker and instead followed the devil. Fashion has taken the centre stage in the heart of man, worshipping the sun, moon, trees and animals. This is rather unfortunate.
Our Lord Jesus Christ has come, so that, we repent and return to God. It is only when we return to God by doing His will that the potentials God put in man at creation will begin to manifest fully. In the lead scripture, it is clearly stated that we are created for God’s pleasure. It is when man does the perfect will of God, the blessing of God will be made manifest in his life. If we totally obey God by doing His will, devil will not have access to us and the things concerning us. We should go back to God, do His will and the blessings, protections of God will be our portion. It is then, bullets will not penetrate into our body, charms will not work in our lives and businesses because we are under the canopy of God.
God has a plan for us and that plan is to give us an expected end as stated in Jeremiah 29:11-13: “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.12: Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.13: And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” God’s expected end for man is that man will meet with the Maker at the end of life on earth. When we seek Him by praying, He will answer and grant our heart desires in Jesus’ name.
