Joshua 10:10 “And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon”

Exodus 14:14 “The LORD shall FIGHT FOR YOU, and ye shall hold your peace.”

FROM Biblical history, it is quite clear that whenever God fights for an individual or a group of people, they always win. God has never fought any battle and lost. There is a Divine factor of victory in warfare engagements. When we allow God to fight for us, we will surely win. Not that we fold our hands and do nothing, but we are supposed to rely on God, trust Him with our battles, commit our warfare to Him, follow His strategies and we shall surely win with God in every battle. Psalm 33:16-17 “There is no king saved by the multitude of an host: a mighty man is not delivered by much strength. A horse is a vain thing for safety: neither shall he deliver any by his great strength”. Winning the battles of life is not a function of human might or capability. It is amazing in times past how the feeble and the weak had succeeded in defeating the strong.

Strong nations were defeated by the less privileged and weaker nations. Let’s take three instances, when God fought for His people and they won in spite of the opposing military might. Three instances:

(1) THE ISRAELITES AND THE EGYPTIANS: Exodus 14:25 “And took off their chariot wheels, that they drave them heavily: so that the Egyptians said, Let us flee from the face of Israel; for the LORD fighteth for them against the Egyptians.” Exodus 15:19 “For the horse of Pharaoh went in with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, and the LORD brought again the waters of the sea upon them; but the children of Israel went on dry land in the midst of the sea.”

(2) THE GIDEON ARMY: Judges 7:7 “And the LORD said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place.” With just three hundred soldiers, the Gideon Army defeated thousands of Midianite troops.

(3) ASA’S 300,000 CHARIOTS VERSUS 1 MILLION SOLDIERS: 2 Chronicles 14:12-13 “So the LORD smote the Ethiopians before Asa and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled. And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians fights for us what would have taken a very long time will be accomplished in a shorter time supernaturally. Joshua captured many cities in one day because God was the One fighting the battle. Joshua 10:42 “AND ALL THESE KINGS AND THEIR LAND did Joshua TAKE AT ONE TIME, because the LORD GOD OF ISRAEL FOUGHT FOR ISRAEL.” We should not dissipate our energy. Let us recognise the place of God in the battles of life. We are commanded to be strong in the LORD and not in ourselves Ephesians 6:10 Amplified Version “In conclusion, BE STRONG IN THE LORD (be empowered through your union with Him); draw your strength from Him (that strength which His boundless Might provides). This year, the LORD will grant you many victories, just depend and trust Him. 1 Corinthians 15:57 “But thanks be to God, WHICH GIVETH US THE VICTORY through our LORD JESUS CHRIST.”

PRAYER: Today, I trust in the LORD with all my heart. I refuse to trust in my ability. I invite the LORD into all the battles in my life. The battle of my life belongs to the LORD. In the Mighty Name of JESUS, I win in every battle of life. The LORD fights for me and I hold my peace.
