If you claim to be a Christian, you must rise above fatigue, and hardship, and want, and bear all with pleasure in seeing the work of God advanced. The main business of life is not to seek the supply of our temporal wants, but to do the will of God. If you do the will of God you will not only prosper (Josh.1: 7-8) but will be a friend of the Lord. (Mk 3: 35)

Any person living for Christ will live and do everything like He did while here on earth. “Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work” (Jn. 4:34). The great design of Christ’s life was to do the will of God. At all times, Jesus did the will of God and it is recorded that God was with Him always. Similarly, if you are a child of God, and follow after Christ’s footsteps, God will be with you and none shall be able to contend with you and you will live victoriously and make Heaven at last.

John 8:29 says, “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”If you devote your life living for Christ, the Father will never leave you nor forsake you. The Father was with Christ and in Him. Christ was the brightness of the Father’s glory. If you do what pleases the Father, He will be with and in you. Though men may forsake and reject you, but God will assuredly attend to you. However, you cannot be the brightness of God, if you are living in sin. Anyone living for Christ must endeavour to be holy and live a separated life. Every true believer, who wishes to follow after Christ, must aspire to copy the lifestyle of our Lord Jesus Christ.

1st Peter 1:15-16 says, “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; 16 Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.” God has called us into holiness and righteousness, if we are from Him. A true Christian must frame his character in accordance with that God whom he is living for. He must be holy in all manner of his conversation. The foundation of the command is that those who professed to be living for Christ ought to be like their God. They are expected to imitate the God Whom they worship and form their character in accordance with His. So, as God Who is the object of the Christian’s worship is perfectly holy, the character of His worshippers should also conform to His status of holiness.

Furthermore, whoever that would want to live his life after Jesus Christ, our role model, will do the work of soul winning, counselling, praying, preaching the word of God, and above all living a righteous life. God commands as many that are living for Him to be holy in all areas of life i.e. in words, thoughts, actions, disposition, comportment and dressing. Such persons should do what our Lord did while He was here during His earthly ministry. If you are living for Christ, your life must be characterised by good works, as a proof that you are living for Him.

Luke 19:13 says, “And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, Occupy till I come.” Whatever office you are occupying now or whatever you are doing, the Lord is depending on you as His ambassador to demonstrate to the world that you are living for Him by your action and disposition. You should live the rest of your life for Him because He has purchased you with His precious blood at the cross of Calvary. Brethren, Christ is pure, so must we be, if we are to live for Him.
