Even with all these great exploits, God’s vision for man was not yet accomplished, because the strategy of God failed, when Adam failed. God did not give up His vision to liberate man and set him on the path of dominion.

Text: “Whoever has no rule over his own spirit is like a city broken down without walls”
-Prov. 25: 28(NKJV)

Text: “He who observes the wind will not sow; and he who regards the cloud will not reap” -Ecclesiastes 11:4 (NKJV)

Have you ever been inspired by an idea you thought was brilliant or lofty? What did you do about such “brilliant or lofty” idea? Did you try pursuing it with every zest, or did you consider reasons why it may not work and as such, was discouraged from pursuing it? Imagine the impact you would have made in the world or the glory you would have brought to God’s name, if you had acted on that idea.

Think of all the things you can see in our world, from matchsticks to skyscrapers and even airplanes, all forms of toys to trucks and state-of-the-arts gadgets. Everything started with an idea that was acted upon and the result is what we see around us today. You would not have been watching television or boarded any vehicle, had someone not acted on his/her ideas. Michael Faraday acted on his idea to produce electricity that we all enjoy today. The filament bulb found nearly in every home was a move made by someone called Thomas Edison. All the countless discoveries and inventions around us were people’s ideas that were acted upon.

God made a ‘move’ by making man in His image (same appearance and resemblance) and likeness (same nature and character) and with the purpose of having dominion over all the creation (to be fruitful, to multiply, to replenish and to subdue the earth), (Gen. 1:26-28) this is God’s divine vision, purpose and assignment for man. Men were created as gods, (Pro.23: 19) to reign, rule, command, and subdue creation, it was for this reason that Jacob survived wrestling with an angel (Gen.32: 24-30), God took to Moses’ counsel (Num.14: 11-20), Joshua commanding the sun to be still (Jsh.10: 12). This was why God, knowing our nature said, come let’s reason together (Isa.1: 18) and gave us the godly privilege of decreeing a thing, for it to come to pass (Job 22:28).

Even with all these great exploits, God’s vision for man was not yet accomplished, because the strategy of God failed, when Adam failed. God did not give up His vision to liberate man and set him on the path of dominion. Then God ‘made that move’, He sent the second Adam (Jesus Christ), this time, having noted that Adam failed as a result of disobedience, changed His strategy by making Him come in the form of a child, so He could by suffering and training learn obedience in the process of growing up Heb.5: 8, because the first Adam never worked for anything he had, everything was given to him on a platter of gold, and as such, he could not manage them, even concerning Eve, he said, ‘it is the woman you gave me.’

Finally, God accomplished His vision for man through Jesus Christ and He became the only way to approach God (Jhn.14: 6) and without Him, we can do nothing (Jhn.15: 5) and as many that have received Him, He gave the power to be the children of God (Jhn.1: 12). Nicodemus ‘made that move,’ when he came to ask Jesus what he may do to be saved and Jesus made it clear ‘that unless you are born again, you have no part in His kingdom’ (Jhn.3: 3).

Now, if you have not received Jesus Christ as your Lord (the authority you have willingly submitted to) and Saviour (the one that paid the ultimate sacrifice to save you) by believing in your heart and confessing Him with your mouth (Rom.10: 10), then you need to ‘make that move.’ It is the sure way of fulfilling God’s vision, purpose and assignment for you to prove what is His good, acceptable and perfect will for your life. (Rom.12: 2)
